Okrzeja – February 18, 2014. |
In a secondary school in Okrzeja, Zbigniew Niziński conducted two history classes concerning the fates of Poles and Jews at the time of war, places of national remembrance, patriotism, solidarity and, should the need arise, readiness to come to the aid of other people. Zbigniew Niziński recalled the life story of Abram Hurman who had attended the school before the war. During the Holocaust, he was saved from death by the locals. Until the last days of his life, he visited the land of his youth tending to relations with the residents and honoring the World War II genocide victims with deserved memory. He passed away in 2013. |
