Olszanka – February 21, 2019

At the public school in Olszanka, Zbigniew Niziński held a history class concerning the Foundation’s actions for locating still unmarked graves of people murdered during World War II. During the meeting attended by the school’s principal and the mayor of the commune, the participants were told about the need to remember the Victims of the war as well as respecting and empathizing with another person. The students were familiarized with the figures of Jewish children saved during the Holocaust as well as the stories of those children being rescued by local residents.

 
Jodłowa – January 30, 2019

The Lasting Memory Foundation participated in the celebration of the Holocaust Victims Memory Day organized in Jodłowa by the University of Rzeszów, Institute of National Remembrance in Rzeszów and the Parish of Jodłowa. The participants prayed in the nearby village of Przeczyca where in 1942 the Jews from Jodłowa were executed and buried in a mass grave. Afterwards, a scientific session was held concerning the history of Jews in Jodłowa and their customs, Polish-Jewish relations and the Jewish cemetery in Jodłowa.

Herby – January 9, 2019

In a penitentiary in the town of Herby Zbigniew Niziński delivered a lecture on searching for and commemorating the Holocaust Victims. He presented the graves commemorated by the Lasting Memory Foundation as well as the figures of the Jews rescued from the extermination by the residents of towns and villages. He also spoke about the need for remembrance of the Victims and readiness to help other people.

 
Zamość – January 16, 2019

In two correctional facilities in Zamość, Zbigniew Niziński delivered a presentation of photographs referring to the Lasting Memory Foundation’s activities for commemorating the Holocaust Victims. He presented the Victims’ graves located by the Foundation as well as the life stories of Jewish children rescued from the extermination. The audience was told about empathy and respect towards other people, restoring human dignity through commemoration of the Victims and living in peace, without hatred.

 
Treblinka – November 27, 2018

The students of two schools from Warszawa Falenica – Senior High School no. XXV and Elementary School no. 124, as part of the project “The Journey of Memory”, visited the former German extermination camp in Treblinka.
